The McKinney Bass Club was created in 2006 to promote the sport of bass fishing in North Texas through a competitive atmosphere of good sportsmanship and fellowship. It is also a forum to share ideas on fishing techniques, bait selection, fishing patterns used during tournaments, and enables all members to become better bass anglers. We are a team format, but welcome individuals looking for a partner. This years schedule is going to be a lot of fun and we hope you will consider coming to a meeting to find out for yourself what a great club this is.

The TEXAS BASS Federation (TBF) started in 2007 when the existing federation voted to stay with B.A.S.S. instead of moving over to FLW Outdoors like the majority of other states did. TBF Inc. President Robert Cartlidge set up a meeting in Late Dec. 2006 with any and all that had expressed interests in starting our own Federation. In that meeting we established By - Laws and formed a volunteer BOD (Board of Directors). Since that time our BOD has been working hard to come up with the best Federation for the weekend angler.
The annual State Qualifier tournament is usually held in the spring where we will come up with our Top 6 boaters and our Top 6 Co-Anglers to send to the District 5 TBF National Semi-Finals for the Central Division which is usually held in the Fall. Also all Texas TBF Clubs who meet the qualifications of a “Club in Good Standing” will also be able to send a Boater and Co-Angler to this Semi-Final. The top Boater and Co-Angler from Texas at the Semi-Final will advance to the TBF National Championship the following spring.
TBF also has a Team Tournament in the late Fall of each year and is one of the ways that each club can meet the “Club in Good Standing” rule. Our annual State Qualifier tournament is usually held in the spring where we will come up with our Top 6 boaters and our Top 6 Co-Anglers to send to the District 5 TBF National Semi-Finals for the Central Division which is usually held in the Fall.
